Terms, privacy and cookies
One short page. Terms · Privacy · Cookies. By using Examine Evidence you accept the terms and confirm you have read the privacy notice.
Who we are
Examine Evidence is run by Augenblick Consulting LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India ("we"). Registered address: [CONFIRM registered address, LLPIN]. Contact for anything on this page, including privacy requests and complaints: [CONFIRM contact email].
Terms of use
- Who may use it. You must be 18 or older. If you use Examine Evidence for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
- Acceptable use. Do not upload personal health data or patient records, content you have no right to use, or anything unlawful. Do not try to break security, bypass limits or access other people's data. We may suspend an account that does.
- Your content stays yours. You keep all rights in what you upload and create. You allow us to store and process it only to run the service for you and to show maps you choose to share.
- No warranty. Examine Evidence is a beta and is provided "as is" and "as available". Features and limits may change.
- AI output must be checked. AI results (tags, screening decisions, reasons, map placements) can be wrong. They are proposals for you to review, and you are responsible for any conclusion you draw from them.
- Not advice. Evidence gap maps are for information and screening. They are not a systematic review and not medical, legal or policy advice.
- Liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of data, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the last 12 months (nothing, for free use). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and mandatory consumer rights where you live are not affected.
- Governing law. Indian law applies. The courts of [CONFIRM city], India, have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights where you live.
Privacy
What we collect
- Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- The studies and files you upload or import, and what you create from them (tags, decisions, maps).
- Usage logs: technical records such as IP address, time and pages or actions requested, kept for security and fixing faults.
- Your cookie-consent choice (see Cookies).
What we do with it, and what we do not
- We use it to run Examine Evidence, keep it secure and answer you. We do not sell your data and do not use your content to train AI models.
- When you start an AI task, the study text needed for that task (normally title and abstract) and your instructions are sent to the AI provider that runs it, either our platform account or your own. The provider processes it only to do the task.
- If you add your own AI provider key, it is encrypted before it is stored and decrypted only to make your AI calls. The app shows only its last four characters and never sends the key back to your browser.
- Data is stored on a server of Hetzner in Nuremberg, Germany, behind Cloudflare, which relays traffic to the site. These providers, and the AI providers, process data on our behalf. Data is transferred to India, where we operate, and to AI providers abroad.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your account and content until you ask us to delete them or the account ends. Email us to have your data deleted and we will do so within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something; backups expire on their normal cycle. Server logs are kept for up to 180 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or withdraw consent you gave (email address above). We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to us first and then to the authority in your country.
- GDPR (EU and UK): you have the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to your data protection authority.
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India): you have the rights to access, correct and erase your data, to withdraw consent and to have complaints dealt with, and may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies and analytics
- The website sets one cookie,
evi_consent, which remembers your choice for up to 6 months. The app also keeps what it needs to keep you signed in and remember interface settings. These are strictly necessary and need no consent. - Analytics (visit and page counts) load only after you accept them in the cookie banner; nothing loads before. Declining is as easy as accepting. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal and analytics stay off.
- Change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. The app itself runs no analytics.
Changes to this page
We may update this page. The date at the top shows the latest change (2026-10-16); for material changes we will tell you by email or in the app. Using Examine Evidence after a change means you accept it.
